Links in the Chain

Because we’re all just Links in the chain,
Think you’ve seen it all then Bang goes the theory
No need, no reason to explain
seizing the day pave the way
For the next innovation…
Switch off the phone
Out of range
Leave a short Messages
(They can) wait till tomorrow
Even if it rains
(I’m) heading out the door Who gives about the weather
when you’ve got an idea.
(I’ve) got a piece of paper and a pencil in my hand
An idea in my head and I’ve just got to write it down
Sooner the better no it really can’t wait
Time is of the essence & I’d rather not be late.
Chorus
Because we’re all Links in the chain,
Think you’ve seen it all
Then there’s a newfangled contraption
no need to reinvent the wheel
pave the way (and) seizing the day
For the next revelation…
Drawing a squiggly line
Take it for a walk
Line across a page
Join up all the dots
(When) the ink runs out
Dip into the well
Ideas in the pipeline
Each With a story to tell
Chorus
Mid 8
Nobody said you cannot do this.
No reason those ideas cannot thrive
Nobody said you cannot fill an empty page
So you might as well give it a try….

Without Smoke

Once upon a while, you come across a tale
The likes you’d never believe
in 1899, They say that a man,
rode the minute mile on 2 wheels
Charles Murphy, From `new York City
Rode like the clappers of Hell,
He said I’ll race that train
They said, think again
He said you wanna to bet that I will
So the great & the good gathered like they should
Gathered To place their bets
On Charles Murphy, racing a steam train
But the odds were not looking good
I’m not a gambling Man
But a hundred to one
Says he’s gone off the rails
And it was all that he could do to prove them wrong…
Chorus
Without Smoke there's no fire
No Spark, No flame
Spurned by desire, fueled by a hunger to
Prove the world and
Spin the wheels round again..
to chase that train round the bend
With board on the tracks
Of 2 miles the Railroad,
stoking the steam engine train
three Blasts of a whistle, flying like a missile
the squealing Steel on rails
Murphy straggling, coughing his way
Through soot grit & grime
But pretty soon he’d made up for lost ground
Chorus
The story goes, there’s a momento
Somewhere on Long Island
An old relative, inherited
And that’s the proof of my tale
You can Take it or leave it believe it or not
Mile a Minute Murphy’s last thought
Was If you want it, you’ve got to give it all you’ve got..
Chorus
